Nice to meet you all. hello! ”nitcher travel”'sShibata TakahiroMy name is What is a “nitcher travel”Hankyu Travel” and”Navitime JapanA new travel platform where” will jointly start. ”Contributing to regional revitalization and human interaction through travelIn order to realize the purpose of”, with people such as local governments, tourism associations, companies, brands, producers, and creatorsIngenious package tours aimed at revitalizing the regionPlan and commercialize. By selling it on the “Hankyu Travel Service” site as an actual tour product and sending customers to the site, I would like to uncover the appeal of the region, cultivate it, and sow seeds of exchange.
As mentioned in the previous section, the members' ambition and morale were high, and the project was expected to proceed smoothly, but due to the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, they were unable to go to rural areas for research or meetings (crying). Even though the concept of the service has been fixed, the essential tour development is not progressing easily... However, the situation where people are not allowed to travel freely is the same for everyone. Then, “Let's start with micro-tourism!” and re-cut the rudder,Shibuya Tourism AssociationTeam up with us to plan a package tour! “PLAY DIVERSITY SHIBUYA!” I decided to start with a unique day trip in a niche that embodies and sticks to the fullest in people who stab you!
What will be the first memorable tour is”Shibuya Record Shop Tour with MURO [Official] Shibuya Record Shop Tour with MURO”. Wow, Japan's world-famous “KING OF DIGIN'” is here! Speaking of MURO, since the 90s, he has been going back and forth between the underground and major scenes as a DJ/rapper/producer/designer. He is one of the living legends who continue to influence not only the hip-hop scene but also the Japanese music scene.
I'm sorry for the sudden digression, but I met MURO when I was a teenager. It was a song called “MURO FROM MICROPHONE PAGER” (MURO FROM MICROPHONE PAGER) recorded on the compilation album “Multidirection” released by Brunswood, a label presided over by U.F.O., in 1993. I was completely baptized by that dope sound, and became a college student who had just started DJing and went out night after night to clubs such as “CAVE,” “THE ROOM,” and “Organ Bar,” aiming for a record shop in Udagawa-cho, Shibuya.
This time, there are 6 shops selected by MURO for the tour. First, let me introduce it here!
Incidentally, Shibuya at the time was called “the best record district in the world” (it is said that there were over 200 stores at its peak, and it was certified by the Guinness World Records), and it was a cool city admired by young people all over the world as a center of youth culture such as fashion and movies as well as music. Unfortunately, in Shibuya today, where rapid metabolism is progressing due to redevelopment, I think it has become difficult to feel the smell of such culture.
That's why I want to get to know the good old Shibuya, walk down the street again with MURO, who has loved records more than anyone else, and rediscover the appeal of Shibuya through music. Smell the paper jacket, look at the artwork, check the grooves on the board, trust your own ears and sense, and dig up the best one. I want to create a place where people who love such physical music experiences can gather and interact, and create an opportunity to visit Shibuya again.
Thanks to MURO, who sympathized with our thoughts, this tour miraculously came to fruition. Below is a comment from MURO! Thank you so much!
“On this tour, I first pick up a record and listen to it with my ears. I want them to enjoy the fun they experience. In the past, visiting a town with a “record map” in one hand was a status, and I would be happy if you enjoyed it with a feeling close to that. Also, I think we can talk a lot about Shibuya in the 90s. Incidentally, this time we have selected record shops for different purposes. It's a store I go to buy new music for radio music selection, and it's the most core store for Hawaiian and roots reggae. I'm also looking forward to seeing what kind of encounters await me.”
In addition to simply digging for records, talking about music and Shibuya with MURO himself, and at the end, the “after dig,” where all tour participants interact while listening to the records they have digged together, are the series of steps of this package tour. Incidentally, there is also an after party produced by PRIMIUM INC., which coordinated this tour”DJ Bar HigashimayaThe event will be held at”! Not only MURO, city pop reggae singer Natsu Summer and Souta Raw, who has garnered strong support from the underground, will join and liven up a midsummer night with analog records like a dream!
And, finally. We have another special guest on this tour! What is MURO's radio program on TOKYO FM”MURO PRESENTS KING OF DIGGIN'NMACKA-CHIN, who acts as a personality in”, will now participate as a navigator! Well, is it time to dig or not? gather! Vinyl junkies from all over the country! Why don't you go on a trip to a small Shibuya where you can meet unknown analog records and music?
